| About
this photograph: |
Many waterfall lovers believe they feel better when visiting waterfalls. This may be due to the crashing water onto rocks, some of the atoms lose electrons which are negative. I am "Positive" this is true.
Watson Falls is Oregon's 4th highest waterfall and there are numerous other falls along the Highway 138 corridor. |

Positive again, Ray? Looks like it's becoming a habit... :-))
Nice close-up. Love the mist and the smooth falls as well as the lush green.
Nice!
Take good care,

Should be a big Plus for those who are getting irritated with my humour?!

Hi Ray
I like the soft silky feel created by the slow shutter speed. Nicely done. Regarding the bridal veil shot in Yosemite. The year we were there (2007) it was so dry in Sept that Yosmite Falls had dried up and Bridal Veil was blown away before any water hit the ground. A good excuse to go back.

Yosemite Valley's "Happy Isles Trail" to Vernal Falls can be very photogenic in the Autumn. There are some fall colors in the oak trees and the exposed gigantic boulders lacking water can be interesting. The deciduous trees are leafless permitting more viewing opportunities.
PS: This year has been a banner one for snow here, and the Valley's falls should all be flowing into early September.

I love waterfalls too, so your explanation may go part-way to explaining why. The instinct is usually to try and frame the whole falls, but I like this approach too. I guess Multnomah Falls are the highest, and having seen those, Watson at 4th highest must be pretty high. I like the slow shutter effect on waterfalls too and here also the splashing on the rocks has benefitted from that creating a misty appearance.
To answer your previous query about my photos of California, I am approaching the end of the images I want to post from NZ, so California is coming shortly! ☺ (Yosemite was our last photo stop on a 7week trip round the world)
