...does she get to wear that dress, not me???
Guess that's what this young lady was thinking while watching the even younger one parade proudly in front of all the grown-ups. If you've guessed that the occasion was a wedding, you've guessed correctly. Barbara has already shown you a wonderful double portrait of Miss Switzerland and Linda, taken at the same occasion in front of the Grossmünster, Zurich's landmark church that you can also admire on the various blue hour shots posted lately.
Originally the upper bodies and faces of the grown-ups were included in this shot but I decided to crop it to focus on the two young ladies. What do you think? |

Liebe Claudia! Schon wieder eine Woche her ... Beste Gruesse aus sunny Toggenburg ... Barbara. |

Hallo Claudia,
I join the concensus that your crop was just the right thing to do; I admire your quick shutter finger!! I also agree with your interpretation of the situation; even though Mom prefers jeans, the girl's envy is plain to see. It's fun to see different member's take on the event. Looks like a very successful meeting.

Hi, Claudia -
You were absolutely right to crop out the grownups - the focus in on the kids, and that expression, and adults (as usual) would only get in the way. The way you have it here, they are props, but nothing more.
I'm not so sure how to read that expression, but one thing is that the older girl doesn't strike me as the sort to want to wear a dress. Just my thoughts.
Chus,
Dan |

Hello, Claudia.
A fantastic image here. Street at its best, I would say, despite this glowing white trying t domite the frame. Have you tried it in B&W? I mean, I look at it and see it B&W, with the bigger girl being part already of the "others" world and the little princess (look at her arms and hands!) still in the "fairy" world.
You did well cropping the adults, of course. The (e)motion is entirely in the girls face.
Would you mind sending the original to me to try something in pp?
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend! |

Hey Claudia!
Wow, you got those girls well!! I have some shots of the little girl in her dress parading around, but I seem to have missed this a little feud!
Fantastic shot - so full of real life and emotion! Great job!
And for all of the men here on PF who commented that this only happens with women...
I live with three men and, let me tell you, they have the same kind of battles, but not about dresses. :-))
I like the crop, Claudia. It's perfect!
Big hugs!

Hello Claudia.
Well, women are very different from the guys. Even those young Women stand out among the children. For girls and mature women dress is a very important thing. Young lady from an early age draws attention to how it looks.
This picture is all too clear about this saying.
Grateful to the staff, great situational shot, well spotted scene.
Have a nice weekend

Hi Claudia
It works to have the image cropped as we really concentrate on the two subjects. Interestingly enough the person behind the in the BG has blue jeans on and the other lady behind the girl in the FG is smartly dressed. I wonder if they were to two mothers?

Hallo Claudia!
Tja, das sieht wirklich nach Zickenkrieg aus! Herrlich!
