| About
this photograph: |
One of Lake Tahoe's most popular spots to photograph, is Emerald Bay and across Highway 89 is the very popular Eagle Falls hiking trail into the Desolation Wilderness.
Eagle Falls is not just one fall, but a series of falls cascading through a narrow granitic canyon along the hiking trail. Then the last fall leaps over a cliff to descend to Emerald Bay, as seen in this photo. |

Landscape photography is a mystery to me, Ray, and I am still learning what to observe on them.
Here The tilted curve of the "horizon" confounds me a little: the truncks tell me they´re standing proud and still though. Difficult light to manage and you succeeded: just a small piece of glowing water seems to have no detail, and I specially like the way the image has these colorful areas very well defined: glowing white, rocky brown, green and blue.
Beautiful work. I could sit and admire this place for centuries :D |

Indeed Emerald Bay is a fine place to admire nature and I am headed there tomorrow.
There is also magical Vikingsholm - a Norwegian style home at the bottom of this cliff, reachable nearby by a one mile hiking trail.
thanks for commenting,
Ray

Hallo Ray!
The composition here creates a wonderful depth and it gives the viewer the impression of being there and I nearly can here the rush of the water. A gorgeous and worth-visiting landscape. You managed the difficult light here quite well.
Greetings from summerly Germany - and have a nice weekend!

Hi Ray,
nice shot of these falls and the calm lake. I like the rushing water and the strong green trees. Well done!
Take good care,

Hello Ray.
You show an interesting place here. I like the layout of the frame, a strong light on the water foaming cascades and an interesting perspective in the background. Here, strong light operates heavily on wet rocks. I even have the impression that it created a soft glow of light at the bottom of the frame.
You have chosen a good POV so you can see the steepness of the slope and the whole cascade.
Picture very moody and very dynamic.
Greetings from Mosina,
Jurek |
