I checked the \"landscape\" categorie here, but I strongly believe there should be a \"treescape\" categorie for this one ;)
The blue someone in the picture is Carmem Busko, a talented photographer and a great friend of mine.
We live in the same city - just a 20 km car ride, which, in São Paulo, could take one hour and a half to be completed - but we never go out together. Not even to shoot in the city. Sumetimes, however, it takes only one mail saying for exemple, \"Ilha Grande for the weekend?\" and one knows the other will grab the backpack, photo stuff and jump into a bus to spend some time shooting and talking.
Next saturday we´ll take a plane to Vitoria (600 km north of Rio, which means 1000 km from São Paulo) then a 14 hour train to Belo Horizonte to meet some friends then back to São Paulo. It´ll be carnival here, and we both are running away from it!
The image was taken in a 20 minute trail from Abraão Beach to Abraãozinho Beach, in Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis Bay. Angra is 2 hours and a half south of Rio. The weather was crap. Rain began to fall and due to the photo equipment we had to come back by boat.
Ilha Grande is an APA Environmental Protected Area (sorry if my english is not correct here), thus only small fishermen villages and few small hotels (\"pousadas\") are allowed. Cars are not ;) The only sounds you´ll hear are the birds, the rain falling in the leaves, few dogs barking and the boats at distance.
Have a great weekend and thanks for being here.
EDITED: for more about this paradise on earth Ilha Grande is, please have a look at http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilha_Grande_(Rio_de_Janeiro) (portuguese only but great images!) |
