The other day I ate lunch with my friend and he told me that his boy can now say “Kako”, in fact it was his first word, even before “no”. Wonderful that one single word can make you happier than buying a new car. This is true Kako love, folks!!!! I wonder why he chose kako before papi or mami but I did not ask … LOL … okay I mean who did not love chocolate milk before sleeping ... maybe better than mami's wet good night kiss :)))

Hallo Barbara!
Great! What a portrait! These big eyes, this facial expression are simply gorgeous and sooo cute. This detail was chosen skillfully. A very special photo - and a captivating one. No, I think, it's more than a photo ...
Greetings from dust dry Westphalia!

Grussi Barbara,
Now with that look and those pleading eyes, I wouldn't be able to help myself and give him all the Kako he wants. It reminded me one of my friends little boy, his mom would not give him any more candy because he didn't eat his dinner yet, and he came to me, because he knows I couldn't resist. With similar sad looks on his face, he said, "Uncle Way, can I have a candy?" I don't have the heart to say no. I just have to give him one, but I told him not to tell his Mommy. He smiled and gave me a kiss. Money can't buy me love, but candy can. LOL.
Love this one very much.
Tchau,

Theme of the Month (2011/05/11)
what a fantastic portrait, Barbara, I wish I had one like this in my files :) the look alone is priceless, but together with the way the kid is holding the cup and his very adult-like hat it's simply great - the boy obviously thinks that we, adults, have lost so much when we stopped having such a complete love for a drink or a meal. very good addition to the theme, since we all seem to have focused on our attention on romantic love and love between the parent and child, while there are so many more "versions" of this beautiful feeling.
technically the photo is perfect as well, I love the tight framing and that you got down to the eye level of the kid, it makes the image so much more personal and intimate. simple background, simple colours, but the result is, as I said, fantastic. my sincere compliments :)

Hi Barbara,
What a wonderful portrait and contribution to the theme! You have captured his expression in an excellent way with tight framing and perfect DOF. Use of flash flawless with no disturbing shadows. Just lovely!

Your last sentence cleared the mystery! As far as I know we don't have kako in Italy!
Maybe it's because of the cap but the child looks older than one who cannot yet speak!
And he's so tender! A great portrait IMO, he even doesn't need PP to retouch his skin! (:-)
Really well captured and framed.

Beautiful portrait of this little fellow. He looks so soulful and sad because he already drank all his 'kaka'. The tight crop is perfect and it emphasises those gorgeous eyes.

Hi Barbara!
a lovely portrait, focused on the eyes since the mouyh is hidden. Also the cap focuses the deep glance, the boy seems really cute, but we are not sure, because we don't see his mouth!
Very good photographic quality.

Can those eyes tell more? No they can't! You got it, Barbara, a strong desire caught in the eyes and that is for sure love. Wonderful reduction on him by the framing and reduced DOF.

Hello Barbara
The kid is adorable, big eyes, he looks old in his ways, teh cap the cup, yet young in his features. Great spark in these eyes.
