Farmers are not only our daily "food providers" but also excellent landscape artists!!! Each work is only temporary, changing with the rain and amount of sunshine - this makes it clearly unique. Don't you find? It takes quite a few steps before the masterpiece is fulfilled from plowing the earth in early spring, seeding, watering, weeding and also manuring.
From the air the visual impact is extremely fascinating. This is shortly before landing, maybe 4 minutes before touch down. Taken from a Cessna 152.
Some other aerial photos, collected ... SEE LINK ...

Hello Barbara.
A greens carpet. An Art work, but who is the artist? Farmers, the eye of the photographer or the Mother Nature?
A classic image, since we showed Arthus Bertrand's Earth from Above ...
But I like yours especially with its parallel grooves.
Good weekend.
Pierre.

I am really impressed with the different ideas people are coming up with: just look through the theme to see the diversity. The farmer as an artist is different and a wonderful addition to the theme.
This aerial POV shows the patterns the farmer made beautifully...from the ground they are not so apparent. At this height the texture looks like velvet corduroy. I expect it was not easy to get this angle with the stripes almost vertical without grabbing the controls from Benno. Well seen Barbara...it also fits in very well with your own personal theme.

Hi Barbara,
I think the artist here is you. The farmers are just doing what they do, you are the flying artist in the air :) capturing this shot in a simple yet beautiful composition. It look like a big #7, or it could be my green carpet. Love the two different green tone.
Enjoy your weekend. We thinking of going to the Swiss National Day Celebration on July 31. I hope we can make it this year. We missed one last year. Rene working this weekend, I'm enjoying the warm day in the garden.
Have a nice summer weekend.

Good POV, turning the farmer's work into a graphical image. Having only flown in a cessna once and not enjoyign the experience at all, I am afraid I would be holding on for dear life or the sick bag, rather than looking out of the window, so a special well done from me:)

But yeah, it is an important part of my own life sitting in the passenger seat so here and there I share my aerial photos with others but not too often as it is maybe too special. Ealier before TE/PF came into my life I wrote articles in pilot magazines but meanwhile I am a little lazy enjoying this here. I never get really sick unless I do too many photos, this can make me feel funny, or reading.plimrn (2011/07/11)
Hi Barbara,
As Way and Pierre comment, I too think you are the artist. Those greens are so lush that they seemed heightened by the straightness of the lines; okay, I'll give the farmers some credit too, those lines are really straight.
While commercial flights have lost most of their allure, (I used to love just going to airports), still the sights from the window seat are the remaining reward. I think sharing passions with your partner is a major part of a good relationship. Well that's pretty much a disjointed ramble, sorry about that.

this photo is soooo Barbara :))) first, it's aerial, second, it's minimalistic, third, it has strong graphic patterns. so green, so fresh, makes me think of those healthy smoothies with spirulina and algae that taste much better than they sound, lol :) love the result, it has to go to my inspiration box to remind me how the most simple things can be truly beautiful.
best,
Kristine

Hello Barbara,
A wonderful addition to the theme, indeed! And you also have your part in the artistic effect - strategic composition!
Thanks for sharing,

Bonsoir barbara
Ici la véritable artiste c'est toi, sans nul doute. La cadrage est magnifique et rend honneur au travail de l'agriculteur. j'aime cette composition en 2 couleurs un peu a lam manière des poupées russes : des boites qui rentrent dans des boites, .......
Amicalement
