I see a lot of familiar names from TrekEarth might as well join and see what's in this community.
My very first post. Here's a souvenir from my recent short trip to Dubai. Dubai Safari- one of Dubai's leading tourist attraction. Drove an hour and a half near the Oman Border to see this wide desert and wild camels. The trip was fun and worthwhile. Enjoy!

hello and welcome to PF : a small but worth meeting community :).
A nice picture to start with. Desert as always something attracting. Meaning a place where there is nobody whereever you look at. But here it seems to be a busy one : funny to have camels crossing such wide band with car tracks !.
Best regards
JMarc

Hello Matt,
Welcome in Photopholia!
You choose a fine photo for a start!
The sand dunes and the camels are an icon of the desert and the strong light and the haze in the distance reproduce the atmosphere of a hot day. The colour of the sand is very intense and all the trucks signs in the sand give a graphic effect.

Hello, Matt! My warmest welcome to you in our small but friendly community!
I do remember your name from TE, even though we havenīt belonged to the same group.
What a great image to open your gallery.
There is a special glow in the sand, the camels on their own with the horizon to
be conquered! The senses of freedom and wilderness are quite evident. The golden
light in the sky tells us the day is almost done. Excellent work.
*****
Few words about PF: we offer our free members the possibility of uploading a
complementary image and a panorama besides the main image every day.
Series (up to 10 images is available for premium members).
Please take your time to look around. We have also the Theme of the Month,
and tomorrow the ToM Team will present the featured images. Itīs a fun activity.
Hope you enjoy it too.

Hi Matt,
Welcome to Photofolia! A fine start photo. I like the hazy atmosphere, the attractive composition with a strong graphical impression given by the textures and shapes of the foreground, the two camels at the right place and lovely, vary natural looking colours. Looking forward to see more photos from you!

Hallo Matt!
Once again - welcome to PF!
Your photo emenates a really fascinating impression of vastness. The patterns in the earth road and the play of light and shadows in the landscape are intriguing details here. A truly not everyday photo - and an impressive start here on PF.
Greetings from autumnal Germany!

Hi Matt - Nice to see you here! I don't thin I've seen this shot before and as a lover of sand I just had to comment on this one! What strikes me first is the fact that the camels are walking without people and I like that. Normally we see riders on their backs or the camel driver in the shot but here they seem to be unaccompanied and that's different. I like the look of the sky, it conveys the feeling of a blisteringly hot sun and the never ending dunes add to the atmosphere of an inhospitable environment. Nice play of light and shade across the FG dunes too. The only thing that lets the shot down slightly are the tire tracks. Warm regards Rosemary
