I use to go on market place anywhere I am. I like the atmosphere espacially early in the morning when people are preparing their place. Here in Tunisia most of small fishes are shown in boxes.

Hi Frederic,
Somewhat surprising to see that you only got a single critique so far.
OK, this is probably not the most appetite stimulating image for the majority and yet it has an appeal. The light with its golden reflexes through the dominant pinkish color and the eyes popping out of the sea of bodies makes an interesting composition. I know that I did similar at the fish market in Istanbul and I liked, but never posted it.
My only critical element is that you probably would have benefited in using a more pronounced DOF. The EXIF does not allow to see the setting of your camera, but I would have pushed a higher f/ to achieve sharpness throughout. I can see from the ISO that it must have been a rather dark place and if you were not carrying a tripod you certainly had some real challenges to use a higher f/.

Fred.Akilaria wrote in 2012/04/12 10:50:38: Hi Peter,I totally agree with you about EXIF datas. When I published that shot I did not have the chance to finish filling the form that picture was already online. I am sorry about that.
So EXIF datas are: ISO 1250, f/6,3, 1/100e, focal length 85mm.
I should have been around ISO 2000 and f/10 to achieve sharpness. I did not have tripod, impossible to use in that market place. Thank you for your comments and honnest suggestion. I am really happy about that.
Greetings from Tunisia.
Fred.

Salut cher Fred
Great graphism here, beautiful management of light and good play of depth of field. Markets are always so entertaining and seem to be where the heart of a city's culture lies. You have captured that essence beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
Bonne amities

hello Fred
what a good idea! From the thumbnail, I thought that it was maybe a picture of Cappadoce, but non, this is very different. You have used in a perfect way the graphism given by the fishes, and this is superbly emphasized by a superb warm light.Excellent!
regards
Pascale
