Isabel Abreu
Brazil | Founder and TMT
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where she learned the very basics of a dark room with her father, an amateur passionate of photography.
Her interest in photography is quite eclectic, with a special regard to street photograhy. She believes a style might restrict the photographer´s interest and narrows down photograph opportunities.
Her aim is to work with good cameras and lenses (in spite of brands, although a DSLR Leica would be very much welcome!) as well as to learn to work with post processing so as to develop the skill to recognize the most adequate post processing to her images.
Photofolia is a group decision and somehow celebrates the friendship she has been building with the other fellow members. She is very glad to welcome new members!

It is difficult for me to settle down at a single place and stay put.
My biographical and geographical itinerary was so far: Stuttgart, Germany; Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil; Arlesheim and Dornach, Switzerland; Fresno, California and finally Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I had my first contacts with photography during school time including exposure to conventional dark room procedures. Finally I jumped into the digital hyperspace by choosing Nikon system 2006 as my workhorse.
My main interest is landscape photography which inspires me to do extensive travelling around the world as well as backpacking around the American Southwest, West and Northwest.
To compose and chase the perfect light is almost the most important aspect in landscape photography, but a clean post-processing is as important.
Jose Augusto Hauer (Zeca)
Brazil | Founder
Was born and raised in Curitiba, Brazil.
He shot his first photos at age 7 and 15 years old he learned a little bit about dark room and fell in love with his first Canon SLR.
After some long years distant from photography, Jose met his passion again. This time taking underwater photography with a Nikonos V. Finally he found a real new life with the digital technology taking snapshots 2004. Since then his interest grew progressively. Posting frequently his photos online and making friends all around the world.
Jose uses a Canon DSLR. He has a special interest in landscape photography, but never loses an opportunity to keep his eyes open for all given opportunities.
Jose strongly believes that the best to learn about photography is to share it with people with the same passion, and when we met people just like we are, we also make friends. This is how Photofolia.net was born and that is its sole purpose.
In essence, he is happy to say welcome!

Kath Featherstone
England | TMT
Kath lives on the north-east coast of England on the doorstep of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. As a land/seascape lover, the moors and the coast give her a wealth of photographic subjects, and a recently acquired camper van has opened up opportunities further. Kath also likes to travel, so travel photos make up a large part of her photo-library.
Kath came quite late to photography and after constantly annoying her husband suggesting compositions, she finally took it up herself with the advent of digital.
Her first DSLR was a Nikon D70 in 2005, and the steep learning curve began, first with a photography course followed by a digital imaging course. She now uses a Nikon D300 and, never being tempted to advance to full-frame, is awaiting an upgrade at the same level.

France | TMT
I was born in the southwest of France: the Pyrenees Atlantic, the country of Henri IV, preferred King of the French.
Despite this, I first grew up in Australia before returning to my native southwest. Then I moved inside France: Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, Cambrai, Compiègne, Paris .... I also had the opportunity to do some traveling around the world for pleasure or for business.
Now I tend to stay a bit in my new area of housing and adoption: the Jura. Mountainous area located east of France bordering Switzerland.
I love the picture but finally devotes little time, even if they eventually I spend some hours on this magnificent site PF. I'm just an amateur that began years ago with film until 2004 and I discovered the digital and post processing software.
Linda M. Luxenhofer
Germany | TMT
When I was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, I was first-generation American. Every summer, we visited our relatives in Kempten in the south of Germany. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, I decided to return to my roots and move back to the city my parents had left. I never regretted it, not for a single second.
I have loved photography since I was a child. I'll never forget the day when I was 10 years old and my Daddy put a state-of-the-art Voigtlaender in my hands and showed me the ropes. It seems that I have passed the passion on too, because my son Mark is also an avid photographer.
What is it about photography that ignites such passion in me? When I capture an image, it's like stopping time for a split second in order to record and hold on to the moment. Sometimes I go hunting for the photos and sometimes they just happen. But each photo holds on to a special moment, one that I like to return to when I look at the capture and often also one that I like to share with others.

Born in Laos, Lived in a refugee camp in Thailand for 3 years, now living in Southern California. I am a graphic designer for an environmental/engineering firm. I started photography as a source of inspiration for my paintings and drawings. As I discover my love for traveling, I begin to take photography more seriously to capture the beauty of all the places I have been to. Traveling is not just about seeing new places and meeting new people. It's a chance to experience and learn first hand about different cultures around the world. It's a chance to observe what others do differently without prejudice or judgment. It expanses our mind and broaden our knowledge, it lets us look at life from many different perspective. Photography is a form of art that allow us to captures that one moment in time and preserved it. It allows me to share my experiences with others. My pictures take me back in time and your pictures take me to places I never been.
