Theme of the Month | The Themes
Please note that there is no obligation to enter images into the Theme of the Month. As always members are free to post images of any subject they wish, under the normal Terms of Service. Members may post as few or as many images as they wish into the themes.
Reflections are a popular motif and who doesn't have photos of landscapes with reflections in their hard drive? However, this month's theme is not limited to just reflections in water. In fact we are hoping you will put on your creative hats as usual and post something a bit different.
Some suggestions: Reflections in shiny cars, puddles, Christmas baubles, sunglasses, shiny street art, furniture, windows, mirrors; the list goes on…
Please remember to explain in your note why you think your post fits the theme.
Important new changes in Theme of the Month
From April 1st you are now able to add your own theme contributions to the current Theme of the Month at the upload stage. You also have the opportunity to add on-going possible choices for your vote in your own private menu. This will help you at the actual voting stage when the vote will be automated from the end of April.
The full procedure is outlined in the forum "News about the Site". You are strongly advised to read the instructions carefully. If you have any questions, that is the place to ask them. It is hoped that the new changes will streamline the Theme of the Month and be a big step forward.
PREVIEW OF UPCOMING THEMES
It's often said that red in an image is good for impact. As a red hot colour, it certainly commands
attention, which is why it is used for STOP signs, some Emergency vehicles etc. It is also said that
red vehicles are less often involved in road accidents. Red is commonly associated with danger,
passion, fire, blood, anger, socialism and communism.
This theme speaks for itself; It's for any image with red in. There are no other limits apart from the
usual TOS limitations.
If the red isn't an obvious part of the image, you will need to explain in your note why you think it fits
A Perfect Match -
Even if we didn’t plan it, sometimes it just happened by coincidence, the color of the subject of our photo and the background setting are matching perfectly. Here are a few examples: a person with a red shirt walking past a red wall or a house with red door; a blue boat with white stripe on a blue ocean with blue sky and white clouds; a yellow butterfly on top of a yellow sunflower; a girl with a pink dress and pink balloons…
Other “Perfect Match” Ideas: People or animals doing the same thing in synchronized movement. People wearing matching shirts, identical twins, or things that looks identical to each other.
For those who like to experiment, this is the time to find matching colors or subjects and do a still life and studio shot. We are looking forward to see all your creative interpretation of the theme, and most importantly, have fun with it.
