PRESENT THEME

June 2013

Red - It's often said that red in an image is good for impact. As a red hot colour, it certainly commands attention, which is why it is used for STOP signs, some Emergency vehicles etc. It is also said that red vehicles are less often involved in road accidents. Red is commonly associated with danger, passion, fire, blood, anger, socialism and communism.

This theme speaks for itself; It's for any image with red in. There are no other limits apart from the usual TOS limitations.

If the red isn't an obvious part of the image, you will need to explain in your note why you think it fits the theme.

PREVIEW OF UPCOMING THEMES

July 2013

A Perfect Match - Even if we didn’t plan it, sometimes it just happened by coincidence, the color of the subject of our photo and the background setting are matching perfectly. Here are a few examples: a person with a red shirt walking past a red wall or a house with red door; a blue boat with white stripe on a blue ocean with blue sky and white clouds; a yellow butterfly on top of a yellow sunflower; a girl with a pink dress and pink balloons…

Other “Perfect Match” Ideas: People or animals doing the same thing in synchronized movement. People wearing matching shirts, identical twins, or things that looks identical to each other.

For those who like to experiment, this is the time to find matching colors or subjects and do a still life and studio shot. We are looking forward to see all your creative interpretation of the theme, and most importantly, have fun with it.

August 2013

Wrecks & Ruins - For August´s ToM two words will rock: Wrecks and Ruins. A really big challenge these two words convey, full of mood and with a negative meaning. However, they also convey a strong sense of history and time. Wrecks and Ruins ALWAYS and necessarily tell a story. Or many stories. There are, of course, the historically well recognized sites - many of them protected by UNESCO but in big modern cities one can also find ruins and wrecks.

Thus, we ask you to dig in your files but also to look around and give your personal interpretation a go: old buildings and former cities, an old railroad forgotten in the woods, acqueducts, you name it! Give them your personal touch and share with us what you have seen in this world.
