Thanks for the visit and comments. If you took US 30 from the west to east this would have been one of the first places to stop. The Women's Forum State Park isn't much but a parking area and this grand vista looking east up the Columbia. The next stop east would have been Vista House and if you visited on a weekend or holiday the parking would have been impossible. We did it late on a Saturday and could not find any parking and hey were making sure you did not park on the shoulder as the road is so narrow. This is Crown Point, I believe, and you have a grand vista both up and down the Columbia. It is really too bad that you missed this man made wonder.

I remember driving from Eugene to Bend several years ago and the river valley we followed had covered bridges and deciduous trees that looked like autumn might be a good time to visit. Maybe we could plan something later in 2017.

I think this POV is as popular as the Tunnel View in Yosemite. This scene changes dramatically with the changes in the weather and other conditions. This is the third time I have visited and each time it is markedly different. I was lucky this afternoon as this was one of only two days in Portland (stayed 9 days) we had sun and no rain.

Thanks for the visit and comment.
