Early one morning we spotted a small herd of elephants with some rather young ones approaching the river. I spotted this one cow with a young male at the river edge and from the motions and actions it looked the cow was instructing young one on how to use its trunk to get some water. It was trial and error with water dropped or sprayed but the little guy got the hang of it. A little later he started spraying water all over the place having some fun with the new skill. Precious!
Tha kind of spotting is always precious! It reminds me of all the sightings I did during my trip to Zambia, Namibia and Botswana. I just stopped my car on water pools, turned off the engine and stood there for hours to come. The moments I experienced were precious and the nice thing was the constant coming and going of herds, animals. Your image is certainly something I have see too and many times I just left the camera on my lap and looked.
The framing is great, the diagonal flow of water adds even more life. Watching youngsters play in water is delightful, watching a baby elephant play in the water must have been one of many high points. You really are increasing my desire to have my own adventure. HLJ x4, Pat
