This picture was taken at Sandsend at 0400 hrs in July last year.
I decided to get up and drive there. Think I got up at 0300 hrs and kath decided she would come too .
Well worth getting up for and the light was stunning before the sun came up.
Very nicely done. Alas most sunrises force us to be a slave to the time and get up in the middle of the night to have any success. You have had success with this fine shot. When I look at pictures like this, there is always some uncertainty about whether it is a sunrise or sunset. Yes, I see them here virtually every day, as I am in my golf cart on my way to the golf course. There may be a more orange like color in the sunsets, but looking at this one, it might pass for a sunset too.
I love the color and clarity that you captured in your image. The long shutter speed made amazing patterns in the water; it almost looks like the tail of some kind of a sea monster. Having a motor home really increases one's addiction to good light.
Wishing the two of you continued health, love and joy, Pat
A stunning image, Rob, my compliments!!! The wake-up call was probably a little brutal to say the least but the moment the sky got the first light, I mean these are moments you will never forget. The result is wonderful and we can sort of be in the process when the water moves back to the land and high tide is approaching. You nearly see the speed how fast the water comes in, or maybe it is out and it is a stream, or a mix of both ... either way, the patterns the water creates are great, the image strongly lives from the movement and how the sea works "in and out" ... excellent work ...
Joli panoramique et il valait la peine de se lever tôt pour prendre ce magnifique lever de soleil. Merveilleux effet de la trace laissé par le bateau.
Toutes mes félicitations et merci de ta visite.
Indeed the tones are very fine and sweet and this kind of rivulet on the sand creates an incredibly long perspective. I love these huge beaches you have there, due to the great range of tide. The ripples in the sand and the reflections make a very appealing image.
Looks great Rob,
My type of colours in this very well composed landscape with a strong eye leading foreground with excellent depth.
It was really worth getting up early, first light is always beautiful to see and capture on a picture.
