The kind of photo I like to make , when I am near the sea, which is almost never.
End or beginning of day, long exposure, timed with the retreat of the water,
Interesting compo, and dynamic, with the water around the stones.
This is an attractive and interesting seascape! The composition is excellent and the foreground with its copper like tones and fine textures is intriguing. I also like the narrow stripe of the open sea, the reflections of the pier and also the sky with its striped clouds. Ever thought of adding a map reference? ;))
robfeath (2014/03/27 15:07:11): Thank you for the gold spot Lasse.
Interesting tones and textures here making it not your usual sunset. I have the feeling iron ore is somewhere to be found. Great composition and PP
robfeath (2014/03/29 11:45:30): Yes Iron ore is in the area in fact the local area was the first int the world to produce iron on a industrial scale. Also a lot of coal mining what gives the beach the black look is coal washed off the exposed seems of coal under the sea.
I want a local beach too :)))) Mine is only the bath tub ... LOL ... okay the Lake of Zurich is not too far either but nothing to compare with THIS. Love the foam-y part in this image, how the water sort of spreads out on the land leaving a thin white foam creating amazing patterns. The stone in the foreground - again - reminds me of gold nuggets which again suits what you say about the mine. Okay not a gold mine but again a mine that provided us with energy. The beach looks rather dark, has this a connection to the coal mine? Wonderful image, Rob, you very fast become one of my favorite photographers ...
Fantastic, dear Rob, looks like a picture from another planet! The depth, the play of light, sharpness, everything here is perfect. I particularly like the effect of water in the foreground, it looks like a lava flow. Congratulations, dear friend!
Ciao, have a nice Thursday!
What a wonderful photo! Not only is it teaching me something new, but also providing a feast for my eyes. I like the angle of the sunlight, the wonderful tones and textures of the ground.
