I think this is probably cow parsley, but it's not easy to tell in its final stage of life (or death).
There's not a lot of background as such but the clouds are definitely blurred.

A classic example for this ToM. Love it. Who thought the death skeleton of the vegetation can be such beautiful photography subject....very inspirational for all to take a closer look at everything in life.
I like the way one can see from the blurred background that that you took the photo at seashore. The clouds add a lot to the photo even that the main attraction is the dead flower inflorescence. Ido not know the exact names of this kind of flowers, they are so many slightly different species. The photo fits perfectly to the theme. You also gave me an idea. :-)) I have a photo of the same plant (?) taken almost exactly one year ago.
