I posted a few of this light house before, different composition and pov.
Bass Harbor Lighthouse is one of the very popular location in Acadia NP. We were here a few at two different days to see the sunset and sunrise. It is not easy to find a spot to set up and once you settled down it is not easy to move around since it's mostly slipperly rock. If you're too far back you have all other photographers in front of you, we were hear when it was slow enough that we found this spot with the tide that give a little bit of reflection. I'm not including this as part of the ToM, cause it's really not a mirror image of the whole, only a little part of it. The LV is in color for those who prefer or want to compare.
The cliffside Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse in Acadia National Park, located in the village of Bass Harbor within Tremont, Maine in the United States, marks the entrance to Bass Harbor on the southwestern side of Mount Desert Island. The lighthouse was built of brick in 1858 on a stone foundation, stands 56 feet above mean high water and is accessible by car off Route 102A.

The b&w is really gorgeous and I prefer it to colored version. I think the light and contrasts really suits the b&w presentation.

Same here, in my eyes b/w beats the color version by light years (haha, fits). The white paint of the lighthouse gives it this extra as well as the sunlit parts in the woods behind it. I do love the tiny "version", its cute double. Bahhhh sounds like another big adventure to avoid other photographers. Can't they stay at home - hehe. Brilliant quality, another wonderful image from this part of the world.

I guess I'm a contrarian, but I much prefer the color of the Lv, even though the B&W is very effective. What is the pixel size of your LV? I really like the way it fits on the screen. Did you mean to put this in the TOM? From me it's a close second to Oxbow. HLJx3, Pat

I like the B&W version as it forces the eye to see the man made structure amongst its organic surroundings.

hard to decide, the b/w works well but the warm light and the reflections in the CI probably have my preference.

Classic Maine lighthouse. I like the B&W presentation but you loose all of the nice warm morning light. So I like the CI just a touch more but both work.

Way, I did not look into the colored version. When a monochromatic image is so good as this one I prefer not to get distracted by the 'real' version. This B&W is so good!!! It has all the elements that you wish for. The dark rocks with its leading lines point straight up to the WHITE lighthouse which is a real eye catcher and the center of this image. Only later, at a second look did I see the reflection which is also excellent.
