Labyrinth Canyon is a delight of shapes and colors as you can see in the CI. As the canyon narrowed, sometimes I felt totally alone, unable to see or hear any of the other eight people. When alone, I sometimes thought of the group lost in Virgin Canyon, since there had been clouds in the sky as you can see in the LV. It also documents the value of being where you shoot when you wake up. That morning when I open my eyes, I saw a pink sky. Not wanting to lose the light, I grabbed my camera and ran outside in my nightgown and bare feet.
Verrrry nice Pat. I like the CI a touch better than the main - don't ask me why I just don't have an answer. Maybe it is the sky or the cracks in the wall. BOTH, are very nice and I like them. The pano is pretty and I can understand you just jumping up and doing the photo. I have done the same only I am in my knickers and not pj's. :)

you describe the essence of camping for me, waking up and being where you want to be, nil time lost in travelling to the location whether it be the next to the sea, high in the mountains or as you show us here the amazing canyons of Utah. I would love to do this one day, in the meantime I will set your gorgeous image in my favs, so I can find it quickly and remind myself.
PS I've read just read John's note and I much prefer the main for the same very reason, its shows no sky or cracks, you really are in the canyon with its shapes, colours light and quietness
plimrn (2018/12/17 00:39:58): I did a family trip in May and of course Peter's trip was in Late October. In those months it's cooler and it October, lower water levels uncover interesting shapes. I think we're doing another red rock tour in May with a fellow we met in the Nikon Photo pit at a Canadian air show. My last RR tour was in 2012 where we visited 14 places in 10 days. Next trip I'd like to take is easier.... Thank you also for the fav, it is an honor from a photographer of your caliber.plimrn (2018/12/16 23:54:10): I thought of you & Way, our big-time campers when I wrote about, 'being there,' I also liked the feeling of being enclosed in the canyon
All are great images but the best part for me is the LV showing not only a wonderful sky alone but it contains story telling. To me it shows the adventure best but you can't compare the three images, they're seprate. I sometimes wear my moon boots and pyjamas when I do winter images before the sun hits the mountan peaks right outisde my cottage, this is definitely a low point ... LOL ... One day we make a pyjama party :-)
plimrn (2018/12/17 00:02:08): Absolutely!! I'd love it. My son was with us on the Lake Powell trip. He's skiing Innsbruck today, he's in Austria for Christmas with his daughter's future in-laws and the engaged couple will arrive soon in Vienna
These photos do not need much words. You show us stunning sculptures of nature - in an intriguing light. All the shapes and structures here simply are magnificent - and for me even somehow touching. The large photo is a real treat. What a sight!
Thank you for the interesting and personal note.
Greetings from troday cold and snowy Germany!
plimrn (2018/12/17 00:42:43): Thank you very much, I'm honored
Awesome shot, very similar to some of the Antelope Canyon, but slight different, I guess you can stay in there all days and come up with so many different Interesting POV image. Amazing places out there to be discover still.
plimrn (2018/12/18 22:16:00): I think you're right
