The day before yesterday we woke up in winter. It had snowed all night and the trees were covered by new snow. I liked the reddish morning light and took a photo from our front door. The temperature was close to zero degrees, but has since then gone down and today morning we have -9 °C. It means that we will have white Christmas this year.
A Merry Christmas to all friends here on Photofolia!
I'm a bit envious! A white Christmas here in my region is rather rare (statistically 2 of 10 Christmas days) and it's always again wonderful to enjoy a snowy and by this silent landscape. I like the wan light in your photo which gives a special, a beautiful charm to the scenery. Are you responsible for winter service ? ;-)
Greetings from stormy and very very wet Westphalia - at +9°C!
Once again: Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ellelloo (2018/12/23 11:55:18): Hallo Frank,
Thanks for your comments! I am responsible for only our own stairs and front of house. Younger neighbours take care of the common areas. Here -9 °C
Once again: Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
That is a wonderful Christmas Card! The light is just perfect. Frank has already beaten me to all the adjectives so I'll just make it a fav! That way I can find it easily. It gives me hope! Regards, Pat
Ahhhh always a huge pleasure to wake up seeing the new snow that has fallen during the night. You kind of want to keep it fresh and clean forever without any foot steps or tire prints. Definitely no white Christmas in the lowlands, not even in the mountains. It is much too warm. The zero degree level is over 2'000 meters but it goes down tomorrow - all depending where you are in Switzerland of course. We had a huge storm, over 140 km/hour on my house mountain ... and it comes back this afternoon - very windy.
