This was one of the many “no more photo stops” during our holidays now rushing to Denver to catch the airplane home.
This Motel had closed their doors for good. Despite the “modern” Wi-Fi, it had come into the years a little. I love such scenes.
Had to smile about the “Pet Friendly”. I like pets but when I saw a poodle resting on a cushion when I looked inside a motel room at Motel 6 one year, oh man, ever since I check the motel beds even more carefully – haha.
In the mini Series you also find two color versions. I also ticked the category "historic". Motels are so much an American thing and belongs to every road trip.
The Lone Star Hotel in Raton. The big times for Raton are over. There is at most a quick pass by from Albuquerque or Santa Fe to Colorado Springs or Denver. I stop there to fill up my gas and have a coffee. It was even difficult to find a place selling a latte. Believe it or not, I found a cute place to sip a good latte.
The town is certainly a nice place to find great photography ops jut like the one you are showing here. The advertisement shows exactly all the things for some one looking for a brake on a long driving stretch. Maybe the "Free Local Call" was not the best idea ... LOL!
