A Combination of last month and this month ToM. The increasingly popular destination in Death Valley, the warning is that you should not drive a regular car on this road to the Race Track, but you still see many cars ignoring the warning and some got flat tire on the supper rocky road.
It would have been a great image for the last month's theme just as it is for this one. The b/w works great for this landscape especially also with the harsh desert light. Amazing stuff going on in this part of the world, fascinating phenomenon. It does not bother me so much that people have a flat tire :-) but far more that they walk around on this fragile land and even steal the stone. I assume someone that can travel this far and can afford the journey can also read about the dangers and the does and don'ts. Okay we can also get stock with a 4wheeler. Hehe. Grand place, fascinating image.
This is a lovely B&W photo. I love that cracked ground that looks like a huge honeycomb. In fact, nobody should be driving there - why not keep it in its pristine condition?
W.Lim (2019/01/11 08:44:55): Hi Murat,
No one is allowed to drive on the so call Race Track, it is a dry lake bed. We not even allowed to walk here when it rains. I meant the road to this place is an unpaved road with sharp rocks. It take 2.5 hour to get out here.
Yeah, I know those warnings! Did I ever tell you the story that I got there once with my Mini Cooper? Driving back to Ubehebe Crater I was so tired of the corrugation and slow driving. I accelerated and drove back at 30-40 mph leaving everybody behind in the dust with an open mouth. NO flat tire and a LOT of fun. LOL!!!!
Nice shot of the typical scene to be experienced at the flat.
W.Lim (2019/01/28 18:52:36): Yes, I think I saw you speeding pass us :) I have seen people doing that driving pretty fast on these road and on the road to Titus Canyon with their Corolla. I guess it's how much risk people are willing to take.
