This is a view of the reservoir Biggesee – not far away from the town Attendorn in a region called Sauerland (please see map view!). It is about 20 kilometers long and it has a surface of about 8 square kilometres. This lake serves primarily to store water for the Ruhrgebiet and also to maintain the same level of water in the Ruhr. As you can see parts of the water surface still are frozen.
In complementary picture you can see the dam of Biggesee and its spillway – a cellphone photo.
Nice big and open view of the reservoir. I like the reflected light from the water, I can feel the cold air, but the sun warming the skin as spring is getting near. Very refreshing and full of hope as we look forward to spring with all the flowers and cheerful colors are near.
The main is is a delight of sunlight and shadow while the Ci, adds important information and is a very good cell phone image, I probably wouldn't have known it without your comment. The map view really emphasizes the size of the reservoir. Your images are typically very current and their freshness helps make them more special. Regards, Patricia
