Not that I normally recide in five star hotels - haha - but last year we had a company outing and for some reason we had the chance to spend a night in the Intercontinental in Davos. During the World Economic Forum the hotel has its high life.
It is ultra modern and pretty cool I find ... but if it fits into the mountain landscape, well I let you decide.
The egg = fits Easter. I hope you had a lovely time.
I do not know if we can still continue to exchange with you :). That's upper class hotel .
And "davos" in itself is a big marker of our time.
My preferate : the #2. Perhaps for the symmetry of the framing.
Great quality and a new fave in my list.
BabaCam (2019/04/22 16:49:45): Not the plush and heavy kind of upper classy but modern and pretty easy going. Yet of course way out of reach for my money belt. The prices are crazy when they have the WEF but also without it, I couldn't afford it. We had a lot of fun using the elevator. It is so modern that we all stood there without any clue how to use it ... LOL ...
A great contribution to our theme of April! A wonderful example of a fancy and imaginative architecture - caught in worth-seeing photos. Especially the main photo shows its peculiarity in an impressive and intriguing way. The series photos are a great regarding this addition.
Greetings from warm and sunny Westphalia!
This is modern and a fine contribution to the April theme! All photos have excellent quality and especially in the first 2 photos the fine patterns and the contrast to the blue sky are wonderfully presented. I also like the wide view of the valley in #3.
Enjoy your Sunday!
Sorry I'm slow to these. That is both a work of modern art and a structure with function. It goes to the top of my choices. The window shapes are very attractive and while it is prettiier up close, it certainly fits the landscape better than a huge box whose only concern is maximal use. The view is lovely still your choice for main is also my favorite. GLF, Pat
I think I passed by on the way back from St Moritz on our last trip, but off course we didn't have time to stop and no money to spend a night here :) Seems doesn't sound like a modern structure would fit within the natural Switzerland country side background, but it makes interesting contrast sometimes. Like many modern architecture in some remote desert landscape in around Phoenix by famous architects, we just returned this weekend. I like how it looks like a close up of a full moon against the blue sky. Lovely series.
I hear that this is where Presidents or Kings and Queens or movie stars stay when they go to Switzerland.
