My contribution to our theme of May „of course“ shows a half timbered facade ;-)
In the horizontal oak beam there's a date mentioned: August 18, 1783. On this day the roof structure was completed. It was the day of the topping-out ceremony. The then owner of this house in the village Grafschaft in the low mountain region Sauerland (please see map view) was Joannes Dünnebacke.
What jumps out at me is the careful matching of the window curtains. I remember a lot of attractive windows from Germany, in fact, I just posted one too. I like the symmetry and tidy order of this image, it's a choice for me
A very attractive symmetry in this picture and the green bushes provide a good contrast to the black and white half-timbered building. We have seen many houses here in this region with interesting texts, like here. And plenty of window-panes too!
