We visited Helsinki city yesterday and passed the new Helsinki Central Library Oodi. We stepped shortly also inside to the library. The building is not only a library, but is intended to be a living meeting place with all kind of activities in its 3 floors. It is one of 37 branches of Helsinki City Library. See more here.
The Helsinki Central Library Oodi, commonly referred to as Library Oodi, is a public library in Helsinki, Finland, inaugurated on December 5, 2018. The library is situated in the Töölönlahti district next to Helsinki Music Centre and Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art. Its architecture is quite impressive, and from its 3rd floor windows one has excellent views over Töölönlahti district and its buildings including Finlandia House (1971) and Helsinki Music Centre (2011).
This is a series of 8 images, showing both exterior and interior of Library Oodi plus a view from a library window and a separate photo of Helsinki Music Centre. The Kansalaistori square (Citizen Square) between Oodi and Music Centre is still under construction. The main photo is a stitch of 4 photos.
Edit: I added this to the doors and windows theme after Pat's suggestion.
Thank's for the series & Pano : we have now a very good idea of what it is . I like a lot this èultr modern architecture. It must be great from inside and so luminous (quite normal for a place to learn new knowledges :) ).
This is an amazing library, especially in the large version Did you mean to add it to the theme? The windows are just amazing and quite functional.. I expect light is important in your area. Of the series, I think my favorite is # 4 for the close-up detail although # 3 is is very close for the big curves and great reflections. The interior shots make me want to explore the books and I do like the #7 shows the lovely setting with the overlay of surreal reflections. P

Thanks for your comments! I added this to the theme now..:-)
A very good combination of picture and note! Your photo shows that a functional building also can be beautiful and interesting. What a sight! In spite of its dimensions it somehoiw seems to be light, floating ... The large version and all the series allow to detect many details and to admire this grand architecture.
Greetings from sunny but still cool Germany!
Excellent series, and great main shot with panoramic LV. this would fit for last month's theme well with the modern archicture, but also a great one for this month theme with all the windows. I love the series, it is like taking a mini tour through the Library. A great looking architecture and beautiful shots. I miss the librabry, now with the internet where we get most of our information versus the library and we also down load books and other reading material...:( It is convenient, but it also isolate us.

Great building, I wished we had more architecture just like this in Zurich. It is so inspiring to have such buildings around you every day. Great series, Besides the main I also love the ones where you see the wooded parts better, so interesting how it holds the building.
The series is fantastic, so is the pano. There was an article in The Guardian a couple of months ago, a lot of pictures too. We might visit it next year September, we booked a Baltic cruise. Luxemburg is also building a new National Library on the Kirchberg, all glass, but it is far from the beauty of yours.
