Ahh really lovely. You were there just in the right moment, matter of days. Such a huge thing when the desert blooms and you see all the colors in this dry land. The LV is great with wonderful deep colors in the orange. I also like the CI a lot with a more "personal" focus, more intimate ... and so beautiful.
All of time we lived in Colorado we were never able to get to any place in the state on time to capture the cactus blooms and that included Utah as well. Always late or just a touch too early. The desert of Nevada and California bloom earlier and it looks like you hit it right on time. Love the colors in this scene with the puff white on blue and the red sands and rocks highlighted with green and pink.
The contrast between these flowering cactus and the other small plants to the rocks and the hostile to life landscape is stunning - and even somehow touching. Life is so strong! The sidelight here creates a wonderful - nearly 3D - effect and the large version is a real treat.
Greetings from still cool and grey Germany! Have a nice weekend!

As I said to Lasse, Nature is truly amazing, It can endure the extreme heat and cold, different plants and animal survives in different climate. What a pleasure for us to share the different kind of experience and photos here.
A lovely photo. I like the colours, the pleasant composition, the beautiful sky and the the excellent depth of the main photo. It is a pleasure to view the large version of it. The CI shows another beautiful desert flower in a different approach.

Nature is truly amazing, It can endure the extreme heat and cold, different plants and animal survives in different climate. This is the opposite of what's in your area. A different kind of beauty. Thanks for the Fav.
Well done capture of this beautifully balanced bloom cradled in a perfect setting. It isn't easy to be able to frame these two beauties together. The Lv allows greater appreciation of the flower detail. Is your Ci the endangered desert primrose? It is always delightful to capture spring blooms, I seem to have missed the season this year, spring has been so off-again-on again this year, right now we're in the midst of at least a week of rain.
