Probably my last contribution to the ToM. The entrance to the Røros municipality. An old copper mining town (17th century). The copper mine closed in 1977. The town is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Historical architecture and their doorways are always interesting subjects. I like the center composition with the stairs leading to the door and symmetry of the windows on either side of the doors. The window crop above continues the symmetry of the scene.
What an entrance! One can see that the builder of the house once wasn't a poor man - and hammer and pick show the origin of the wealth. This door stands wonderfully out in the white facade. An architectural gem.
A beautiful contribution to our theme of May!
Greetings from thundery Westphalia!
You framed this elegant doorway well. I think I'll change my vote to this image. Tromso is quite a charming town. It was the last stop our ship was able to reach back in 2012. I see I misread your note, I thought you said your last contribution of PF not TOM. Sorry about that. GLV, Pat
