I was trying to reach the lakes of central Beijing after hours walking across the town, in this point there was a big red wall surrounding the imperial town, in a point between the central lake and the moats, what weren't visible in this area.
I found this couple taking photos, a very usual scene in China and even in famous places around the Europe. You can see the photographer they paid closer them, a Chinese tourist in a bike was taking photos and I was the third one. What image would be the best?
Few days ago I was reading there are more than 20 millions of men more than women in China, can you imagine how difficult is to get a wife there?
About the month theme: two photographers in scene, a couple...
Bom Dia Jorge,
The tree provides an interesting pattern of light and shadow. This interesting image triggers some surprising aspects: the couple has chosen not to look at the other, like they don't care much about each other. I'm guessing he is a very successful businessman with his relaxed casual look while she seems more tense and formally attired.
When did you go to China? I'm guessing the selfie thing has infiltrated China from all the tourists. When we were in Florence, there were busloads of them. I thought one fellow was going to have a stroke, his face got so red when he was yelling at his wife! Seems like given the shortage, he might take better care of the one he has.
I'm replacing my earlier vote with this one. SAA, Pat
I visited china last september. I asked my guide why the couples are so crazy for this kind of photos and she told me the grandparents give them the money (they have a dream the couple produces more babies). while in brazil the couples took this kind of photo few minutes after the marriage, in china they took these photos many months before the marriage and present the photos in screens during the party of marriage.
