Bob Stewart has logged a total of 289 hours in space spread over two shuttle missions, including approximately 12 hours ‘space walking’; he was the second person to spacewalk untethered.
I chatted with him yesterday at the Huntsville, Florida Space and Rocket Centre.
It’s incredible that someone who has achieved so much can be so down to earth (pun unintended) in conversation.
He was standing in front of a scale model of the Saturn V rocket.
He and other NASA retirees freely give their time.
Great opportunity to learn more about travel !
