A SERIES of 6 images.
These photos were taken during light snow fall earlier this year in January not far away from my cottage. It was pretty gusty at times too, the wind chills made it really cold feeling in the face.
The farmer had led out the cows to have them in the fresh air for a while now trying to bring them back inside the shed which was not easy. Kind of fun to watch. He did not mind me taking some images also with him in the photo. No idea why I had the honor, normally they're pretty shy.
Always a pleasure to walk by this place, so peaceful when you hear the cowbells from inside the shed when they’re inside during the night or if it is too wet. All year round something to explore.

so, so Barbara, kicking off this months theme with a bang. A series of 6 great winter images. I like them all as a series and perhaps number 4 for the composition.

Hallo Barbara,
#2 is my favorite. It is for that stubborn look on the cow's face; she really does NOT want to go back inside. # 4 is a close second for the excellent line-up of the cows all facing you. #6 is also close with the farmer's pleasure at getting them moving. Your main shows the trees fading into the fog while that little arrow seems to be pointing home. I think #3 allows us to see their winter home. I also really like #5 for the way all the cows are focused on the farmer. What a fun winter series. To my choices for sure, top of the list today. I think this is also your theme, I had been thinking, "Winter I can do!" GLF, Pat

Great series. Nice to hear that the cows were so cooperative. Now all you have to do is put some reindeer antlers on them and voila Santa can be on his way.

Great Series showing the rural way of life, all are good to be the main post. I like the one with the farmer the most...
I remember the first time I went to Rene's hometown, they have a farmer up the hills with many cows and their house was next to a church and between the cow bells and the church bell, every half an hour. I counted down the hours 1 o'clock, 1:30, 2 o'clock, 2:30....I couldn't sleep, and I try counting cows, one cow, 2 cows, 3 cows....I still couldn't sleep :) It was mostly jetlag and the new environment. but it is really nice in these days to still see things like this, farmers doing their liveliness in the most traditional way, instead of the cows in a big warehouse being fed and in the fence all the time...These are real cows that came from the farm......
