I believe this fellow is Winston, the troop leader at Gorilla Highlands at Wild Animal Park. He is now 48 years old. A few years ago when he seemed a bit lethargic, the zoo & UCSD doctors gave him a full cardiac work-up. Gorillas are the largest primate so he could be considered strong although gorillas are basically peaceful vegetarians.
I posted an image of Vila. This female gorilla died in 2018 when she was 60. She was believed to be one of the oldest Gorillas at the time.
Yes, this photo goes with our theme of January. What an impressive mucle man! The rock with its play of light and shadow is a wonderful background here. In spite of this rather bright background the exposition of the protagonist is perfect.
Greetings from wet, grey and cool Germany!
Better be far away from that male gorillawith a silver back!
plimrn (2020/01/13 18:53:45): Il serait intéressant de les voir à l'état sauvage. Quand j'ai vu des ours polaires dans la nature, j'ai été étonné de voir à quel point ils étaient différents de celui que j'ai vu au zoo
