Inuksuk is a figure made of piled stones or boulders constructed to communicate with humans throughout the Arctic. An inuksuk constructed of boulders tends to be massive because of its base-to-height ratio. The term inuksuk means "to act in the capacity of a human." They were often constructed by those who felt the need "to attach their thoughts" to distant and familiar places, especially when they were a long way from home. Source
What an impressive photo and place as well and what a thought behind this artwork. The "capacity of human" especially in the last time seems to perish, to be sacrificed for selfishness, profits and vanities. You present this Inuksuk in breathaking suroundings, in an overwhelming nature. Yes, this one goes very well with our theme of January.
one of my choices for sure ...
Greetings from Germany, where a whiff of winter will come this weekend!
