The Athabasca River is a major river running from the Canadian Rockies Icefield north towards the Arctic. South of Jaspar the wide icy river is squeezed into a gap in the Quartz rock and forces its way through a series of series of waterfalls, cascades and canyons before leisurely continuing its slow journey north. At the top of the Athbasca Falls the sheer power, strength and noise of the water being pushed into the gap is staggering.
Fantastic picture of this beautiful and powerful river. Water in your picture is perfectly frozen in time but the photo conveys full power of the huge masses of it squeezing through a tight spaces. HavRegards
Chrise been there and looking at your picture I can still hear it, powerful experience.
Thank you for this photo.
Yes, Chris, this photo shows strength! A wonderful and inventive contribution to our theme of January! The "frozen" falling of the water masses isrednered in a fascinating way.
Greetings from not very winterly Germany! Have a nice weekend!
This photo shows well the power of water, its strength. One can almost hear it from this photo. I like the way you have frozen the movement of the water with the short exposure time. An excellent contribution to the theme.
