This is the central station in Gothenburg, the oldest railway station in Sweden still in use. It was built between 1856 and 1858.
I was there yesterday evening to meet our grandson, coming with train from Oslo. In the blue hour, the roofs had a certain shade of purple and I took a photo with my telephone, feeling this would suit the monthly theme.
What an inventive contribution to our theme of February! Yes, there's a wonderful whiff of purple on these roofs. A beautiful effect of the blue hours' twilight. In addition this is a really gorgeous building with lovely attention to architectural and ornamental details - quite different from the today's functional buildings.
Have a nice time with your grandson!
Greetings from wet, grey and cool Siegen!
