I’m trying to play with the title, waterfall and the fall season but come up with nothing creative.
Nuo Ri Lang Waterfall
Nuo Ri Lang in Tibetan means masculine God. I don’t know how they see masculinity in this waterfall, maybe in the summer when there is much more water, the waterfall is more powerful than now.
The water level is not as high but the fall colors really adds some colors and it is the best time to visit Jiuzhai Valley National Park.
As I mentioned in my last post, it is hard to take picture here, because of the strong shadow and light. I used my tripod almost 9 out 10 pictures here.
Actually, that title is pretty creative for this shot! Very good handling of difficult light; did you do any post-processing? It is a little cluttered, but overall well composed, and I do like the splashes of color and the way you've gotten them to stand out.
Odd about the waterfall being masculine; I usually think of water as feminine. But I know nothing about Tibetan theology, so they may have a reason.
Hello Way! I have just lost my text, jizzz, how could this happen! I was writing about masculine waterfalls and that I had never thought about a female waterfall but that in German it is masculine "DER Wasserfall" and that I find it interesting that some languages feel female when they think of a waterfall. Oh dear, maybe it is getting late, it is dark black outside :))) But I also said that it is again such a lovely shot and something very nice from China that you have brought back. Excellent quality, very good light management, not easy in this leave jungle with very little light plus the moving waterfall in the back. Very good! Have a wonderful night, once you reach this stage later in the day ... Barbara.
well, as hard as it is to take good pictures here at Nuo Ri Lang, you really got a a beauty!! Lovely silky water with that long exposure and great colors. I like the shadows here. Together with the light on the leaves, it's a wonderful show going on. Really nice shot Way, and the title is creative enough too. The Falls and the Fall / nice play on words!
This is a beautiful image! I like the veiling of the water but the peek-a-boo feeling of the scene with FG trees really sets off the waterfall. Of course the light on the fall colors is also a plus. Well done!
Beautiful shot Way. You got the shutter speed just right for the silkiness of the water. The light on the autumn trees is gorgeous, illuminating them perfectly. As a Brit, the play of words doesn't resonate quite the same, as we don't call autumn 'fall', but it is understandable and a creative idea.
This is just stunning. The many rivulets of water are purest silk. The fall colors add great contrast. I'm glad I had the opportunity to go through some of your pictures that I missed when Larry had surgery. HLJ, Patricia
despite the challenge of the difficult light you got a precious register of the place. lovely the texture of the waters, my camera can't take images this way because it has only F8.
very nice lateral view with the colors of the autumn mixed. TFS.
