This one is fresh from the pot of my street shooting session at Setubal.
This morning the weather was kinda tricky with flat light, filtered by the clouds so not a good day for landscapes.
We went to Setubal and the weather started to get better but then it was too late as I had brought only my 50 mm with me so we sticked to the original plan which was street shooting, this is one of them.
A "hidden" trendsetter, he wears a Rayban I think :)))) A "GLOBE" player maybe? You got a very cool corner for street photography, Paulo, kind of an intersection for fashionistas of all kind. I can clearly see that my camera might remain in the bag but rather do some spring shopping :))))) The b/w treatment is excelllent, it works wonderful with the "glossy" shop windows, the shine remains, b/w gives it a special attention. Did you go with a photo club? I have to play more with the lenses, I got so lazy with my up to 200 mm zoom. Have a wonderful new week, too nice weather here to work ... le grand bleu, it cannot get any blue-er.
I can understand when you say your camera could stay on the bag :-)
No i didn't went there with a photo club but with my "partner in life" she too has a "crush" for photography, not for street photogrpahy she's more into landscapes and details.
You're right about the 200mm zoom, i too get lazy as it covers almost everything we need from 18 to 200mm, but sometimes I like to go for a session with the 50 mm lens, it forces me to think more about the composition.
Have a nice week too, here the weather is kinda strange but still warm and sunny enough.
The streets look quiet for Sunday shopping. It wouldn't surprise me to know this man was pacing the street waiting, while his wife tried on a new dress somewhere. Meanwhile he wonders why you want to take his photo.
What interests me most here is the shop on the left. I'm trying to figure out what is actually in that shop, what is reflection and what is looking through a double window to the shop beyond.
Using a prime lens like your 50mm is good discipline to concentrate on composition and positioning.
Ah, Setubal - had some fantastic grilled sardines there! What a lovely place! But my visit was in a hurry so I never had an opportunity to explore the place, which from what I can see here, offers quite a few good shooting locations (for street photography, I mean). Maybe next time I'm there! ;-)
