A famous place which in the meantime is actually more infamous du to the great amount of people visiting it. What once was an introspective experience is now replaced by bus loads of people from all over the world, carrying self portrait sticks and yelling at each other to show their beautiful images on the display of their phones instead to mute and absorb the surrounding beauty. This was my last visit to this place.
Some people see in the feature presentation a woman with her hair in the wind ... hence my title 'Vanity' ;-)

You don't make selfportraits and share it with your friends? It's time to buy a selfie stick and a teddy bear :-) You must have come over these folks too that make images with their favorite "Kuscheltier" @ Grand Canyon & Co. Well, nature lovers v. the tourist industry, this combo will never ever match.
Beautiful image of this famous spot, the colors look wonderful and natural ... and yes I can kind of see the woman's hair in the wind or maybe it has something of Elvis' hairdo :-)
Very nice Peter. If you did not understand the situation this would be almost an abstract landscape. What is there not to like about this image, hues of color, ligh and shadow, and interesting shapes. Excellent!
I think I can see her as well. I would like to visit but have become over the years a touch claustrophobic.
I was here some 6 or 7 years ago and it was already pretty bad with the crowd, and I imaging it being worst that it was. Good thing is most of the image we want to take are higher up, so we can avoid people being in the photo.
Yes, I see the graphical female wit the wind blown hair, and I see more, the open being water hole with reflection and the curve line being river also with reflection.
Such a beautiful photo with a richness of colours, shapes and textures of this famous place. Also the play of light and shadow is gorgeous. This behaviour of tourists seems to repeat everywhere, where a place gets a status of tourist attraction.
I almost didn't see this and I'm sure you are still teasing me about this place which we didn't know existed when we spent 3 days in Page in 2000! And I just got over the bruised backside from kicking myself! 😂
Oh yes! I see the woman .... in a shampoo advert maybe!? 😆
I love the colours and textures here. Excellent framing from a choice of thousands of possibilities I'm sure.
Like everywhere tourists are spoiling the beautiful places.
PB-Photography (2018/08/08 16:06:58): I am not teasing you as I was there in 2005 and missed it myself! Nowadays it would be impossible to spend three days in Page and miss it. There is advertisement EVERYWHERE and the amount of tourists in the town is unbelievable!
