I live on a mountain, but it's only 1000 meters high. From my balcony, I can see the many Alps, so much higher. The highest mountain I can see is the Hoher Riffler, part of the Zillertal Alps in Austria, 3,231 meters high.
Some people don't like the mountains, but I absolutely LOVE them. And if you love them, like I do, they can be addicting. You always want to go higher and higher. We try to spend as much time in the mountains as possible.
This image was taken on the Fellhorn, which has a modest height of only 2,038 meters and is part of the Allgaeuer Alpen. It's nicely nestled there, giving you fantastic views all around. Although I was there more than once this summer, I've decided to show you this older image because it's one of my favorites. And in the pano, you can take a little hike yourself.
Listen baby, ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough baby
If you need me call me no matter where you are
No matter how far don't worry baby
Just call my name I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
'Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
One really feels your "affection" to the mountains and I can understand this very very well. Flat regions for me are boring and somehow "meaningless". Both photos show a real fantastic view and all the tones of green are an additonal attraction as the fluffy clouds are. I really would like to "enter" the photos ... ;-)
Greetings from a wonderful late summer in southern Westphalia! Have a nice week!
The famous Balcony, one day I have to see it myself :-) An excellently crafted image, the clouds are just great and make a perfect "cut" between all the greens and the blue skies above. Hardly any snow left in the summer, just to the right there is some slices left I think. For the first time I can think of my house mountain has no snow anymore, the dry and heat of this summer has gotten rid of it. Really, there is folks that don't like mountains? Maybe it scares them a little, the altitude makes them dizzy or similar. A wonderful image. Have a great new week ...
Gorgeous landscape and open space. All we needed sometime to escape the chaotic city life style, even just in our mind sometimes, when we close our eye and meditate in yoga, I would try to see myself in places like this as high as these mountains and as low as the valleys. The pano is awesome with sweeping view of the whole area, and I can almost touch those clouds they hanging so close to the mountain.
I live in a top of a mountain too, but mine is only 650 meters high. marvelous this view with the strips of erosion in evidence in the slopes and the coverage of clouds above. very special view you have from your balcony.
