I returned from a trip to Spain and Portugal yesterday. Traveling through these countries was a first and yet I had a constant feeling of familiarity. Growing up in Brazil lead me to learn in school the history of both countries very well as both shaped South America as no other countries did. Walking through the streets through Lisbon was like walking through a 3-D history book for me. On my last day in town I took early morning Uber to get to the Vasco da Gama bridge. It is the longest bridge in Europe (17.2 km) and built in 1998 to cross the Tagus River. Taking into account that Vasco do Gama was the first European sailor to turn the Cape of Good Hope and getting to India and than back to Portugal the choice to name this bridge after him was just the right thing to do.

So you were close from us during your trip (any way closer than from US or brasil :).
This is absolutely fantastic. the composition with the bridge and light reflected in the river. An exceptional blue hour too.
A fave for sure, no doubt about it.
Blue hour magic, this is fantastic, Peter. I find you have a wonderful harmony in this image, the biggest part coming towards us starting low from right to left becoming taller. We visually travel in an Uber taxi crossing slowly the bridge in the evening traffic. Great the reflections, wonderful the deep, yet warm blue. It must be a great feeling finally seeing the real Portugal, not just from history books but standing there wondering how it felt to discover our planet.
The magical hour, and those dark clouds add to the moody and dramatic atmosphere and contrast even better with the golden lights. Excellent as always. Perfect composition with the main tower leading us into the distance with all these string of lights.
A very attractive and magical blue hour view of this long bridge. You have found a perfect POV for your photo with the big bridge tower on the left and the bridge gradually vanishing to the right. The reflections are awesome. Last but not least the atmosphere is wonderful. A lovely image.
wow, what a great image. This bridge lends itself well to a blue hour with such an intense reflection. The sky is also perfect. Absolutely gorgeous!
Just for info, this impressive bridge is only about half as long as Might Mac not that we're trying to compare lengths. :))
