During our hike up the Narrows of the Virgin River we were constantly walking in and out of the icy water. The Zion Canyon is magnificent. We hiked from the Temple of Sinawava to the Wall Street section of the canyon, where towering walls are 1500 feet tall and the river is merely 22 feet wide. This was an unforgettable hike.
I completely agree with you, hiking through the Narrows is an unforgettable experience. I did it twice! once in August and another one in November. First was a challenge due to higher levels of water and the second due to frigid water. Both times it was a hike from the top to the bottom with an overnight in the Narrows. It obviously needs a permit to do that, but I really recommend you doing it again with a night in between.
Very nice warm glow from the opposing wall giving the water a nice orange hue.
