Last October, we took a two week vacation to the Turkish Riviera. We'd been there for a beach holiday back in 2016 and I fell in love with the area. I knew that I had to go back.
In October we returned and rented a car. We did a lot of exploring.
This is a classic photo subject - The Apollo Temple in Side. It was quite a challenge to get a shot without people, since it's a very popular spot. There were three wedding couples that night and hundreds of tourists. In the CI, you can see what I mean.
A well presented night shot Linda, I love then colours that you get here and the soft light still on the horizon. Hopefully that dose of sun in October is lasting you through your long winter.
PS I think you forgot the CI
Sistercosmo (2019/03/17 22:25:25): Hi Elaine, there was a problem with my account and I couldn't upload the CI. It's there now.
Yes, it was great to get so much sun in October. Unfortunately, it didn't last us for the whole long winter. I'm ready for the next vacation! :)
You caught a beautiful - nearly solemn - atmosphere in this photo. The Ruins stand wonderfully out against the blue sky with the fluffy clouds. The "stars" of the lamps are the cherry on the cake here. I like it very much! But where's the complementary photo ? ;-)
Greetings from very wet and cool Westphalia!
Sistercosmo (2019/03/17 22:26:52): Hi Frank,
I had a problem with my account and couldn't upload the CI. It's there now. :)
Greetings from cold and snowy Buchenberg. I've had enough and am ready for spring!
It's beautiful! The palm trees against the sunset are very special. Night shots of these ancient ruins really are the best. I'm guessing that it is still less crowded than Rome or Florence, I love all the travel ideas I get here. Thanks for posting the Ci, it really shows your outstanding PP HLJ, Pat
You manage to get a lovely shot without people. It is a challenge these day anywhere in popular destination. The only place are okay is where there is water in the foreground, but which mean you're not there alone and thousand of other people next to you just on in the photos.
I love the starburst of the lights... and gorgeous colors.
Sistercosmo (2019/03/18 21:32:00): So glad you like it, bro! Thanks for the fave. :*
Magnificent photo in gold and blue and an impeccable composition. The frame still shows us the coconut trees between the majestic columns. The black frame highlighted all the beauty of this imposing historic ruin in the best colors and light.
Ahhh a wonderful blue hour image, missed these from you :-) The light stars are really fantastic adding an elegant side to it. I can imagine the crowds walking all over the place, not easy to get the right moment without them. Still: I do like the CI too, in fact a lot. The ghosty figures are fun too maybe adding something of the past "who was there before us". Both images have an excellent quality.
