Meanwhile, you all know that the Dandelion Bloom is one of my very favorite times of year. I just can't get enough of them and, fortunately, they're all around me this time of year.
Why do I love them so much? They bring the first color after a long winter. They're a sign that summer is on its way. And they are just plain beautiful.
Because they're the first to bloom, they offer gorgeous photo opportunities while the mountains are still covered in snow. The contrast is just breathtaking. Unfortunately, some of my friends are allergic t them and are not pleased to see this sea of yellow.
But for me, they represent serendipity - good fortune. And the cows grazing peacefully in the meadow (look closely) will certainly agree. We're very lucky to live in this beautiful area. I hope that this image gives you the same feeling of serendipity.
They sure are beautiful and most of all very cheerful and lively. It lift your spirit somehow. When you see one of a few they are pretty ordinary, but when they are in full bloom all over the hill, it is breath taking and I had seen it once in Switzerland and it forever imprinted the scene in my head forever. I would love to see it again soon. Maybe next year, we plan to go back to Switzerland next spring....This is just lovely especially with the snow cap mountain background and the field with cows grazing. It looks so typical European country side way of life, so beautiful and peaceful. A painting of daily life in your area.
A superb view of spring with the dandelions covering the meadow in front of a mountainy landscape. The snow is still on the tops, but in a few days it will be over. I like the saturation of the green and yellow hues and the different"horizontal" layers in your post
I can see why this is your favorite time of year. You captured this scene very well with the flower detail in the foreground, then the yellow carpeting, smoothing to cow-studded green pastures then the snowy blue hills merging with the sky. HLJ, Pat
What a splendour! I say this as a photographer - not as a gardener. Dandelions can get a real nuisance in garden ...
However, the dandelions in your photo, on this meadow, in this landscape, simply are gorgeous and a fest for the eyes. The low position of the camery here provides a wonderful depth in the scenery and gives the impression of being there. The contrast in colours is a real treat - ein fotografisches Schmankerl.
Being a cow there must be a great job ;-)
Herzliche Grüße aus dem nasskalten Westfalen!
Wonderful time of the year in the mountains. I am sure the cows ran to the meadow after a long winter inside and nothing could keep them back in the barn. Beautiful image, I love how you worked with the sea of yellow in the forground elegantly leading into this great landscape. Layer after layer is beautiful, and yes snow on the mountain peaks - still. Love the deep green typical for the spring time. Tolles Bild :-)
