This Mama Racoon has been visiting us for five years. We'd decided that she was on her last legs when she appeared with two young ones late last month. We had named her Chomp when we first saw her, thinking she was a male, as she was the largest of a group of 5. However, the next year when she appeared with 4 small ones, we realized our mistake. We guessed that the other 4 of the previous year were also her almost grown offspring
I don't like them at all. They ruin gardens, murder chicken, spill garbage all over. But they look nice and your picture is superb. Sharp, exposed properly and the eye contact absolutely makes the photo eye catching. Seeing masked bandit eye to eye!
What a photographic catch! The quality of the photo is superb and it really could be a picture for a field guide. Even the "arrangement" of the two in the photo is perfect. These rascals also are spreading more and more over all Germany .
Greetings from cooler and cooler Germay!

when my brother was a baby my mother had a hair brush for him and it had the shapes of this animal, it was so beautiful. precious flagrant of the mother and son, looks she had part of her ear lost in some fight. very beautiful compo.
plimrn (2019/08/13 21:03:03): We decided that losing a bit of ear is a raccoon mating ritual. All the ones we see with babies are missing some ear although when I looked up mating rituals for this animal, it wasn't included although they are polygamous and littermates may have different fathers
