Over the Labor Day weekend Joanne and I took a camping trip to Lee Vining/Mono Lake specifically to try and do some astrophotography. Most of our earlier attempts were hampered by the moon so we made sure we were at the location during the new moon phase. This is the Milky Way. Outside of identifying Ursa Major and Minor and the Milky Way I know little to nothing of the night skies so I am unable to talk about the subject. I think Orion is in here somewhere or is it Andromeda? If anyone can give me some hints I would appreciate it.
What an impressive and fascinating sight! It wonderfully shows that our planet, our species, is only a dust particle in universe. I like this one very much!
Greetings from an already rather autumnal Germany!
Excellent shot of the night sky, it not easy, I tried and only a few came out acceptable for me. I guess I really can't do too much for now with 2 kids. But would love to learn more. Anyway. This is really good and with a good foreground of the tufas. We were here just few weeks before you.
