This fly has chosen a really beautiful landing platform - the flower of a yellow species of Pulsatilla alpina, a pasque flower (in German: Kuhschelle). I found in in the Austria Alps in an altitude of about 2.000 meters a.s.l.
In complementary photo you can see the whole plant - however, without fly ;-).
Excellent shots, both of them, I like for different reason. Such wonderful detail on the main especially of the fly. Yuke! The CI is great to see the whole plant and many flowers. Such beauty in the nature.
Wowza! Impressive detail throughout with your focal fly showing perfect focus. That really is an alpine beauty and I appreciate the CI, especially for the way it shows the foliage. I've been working on developing a meadow and that flower and its foliage surpasses anything I've been encouraging
