The present bridge in central Gothenburg across the Gota River (Götaälvbron) was built in 1939. It has to be replaced now and the new bridge will be finished in 2021, when Gothenburg celebrates 400 years! The new bridge will be called Hisingsbron, i.e. Bridge to the island of Hisingen. It s very interesting to follow the progress of the construction works.
Interesting photo, real life illustration as it happens. It could be fascinating to see the gradual emergence of the project. I am sure you will be observing construction and I would like to see it's progress from time to time.
Very good way of showing your city is alive.
PS. I have just noticed the sign on the construction site: Here we are building Geteborg.
Such long lasting construction projects can indeed be really interesting to follow and see the different fases of the work. I also saw "Här bygger vi Götebortg" and "Skanska", which is very well known also here in many big construction projects.
