We visited Golden Ears Provincial Park last weekend which is about a 45 minute drive from home. The fog had not yet lifted when we arrived and then the sun did its magic. Theses trees are all second growth cedars. The old growth cedars were cut years ago with the stumps now covered with moss.
A photo which transmits the magic of the moment wonderfully. The sidelight of the low sun with its play of light and shadows creates a somehow 3D effect. A real fairytale forest ...
Greetings from cool and grey Germany! Have a nice Advent season!
What a delightful image with those bright shafts of sunlight; it's so nice to see your work again! I agree with all the earlier comments like magical & fairy tale forest. Those little foliage covered mounds are quite unique. When I looked up the park with an eye to a future visit; I was delighted to find that it includes campgrounds. HLJ, Pat
So nice to see you back, Phil. I hope all is well in your corner of the world.
Two stunning images both with these amazing sun beams reaching inside the forest adding a little light to the dark illuminating the moss and fern (in the CI). I wouldn't be surprisef to find the gnome even if it was only in my fantasy.
Excellent work. Both images are great, I might have a slight preference for the CI, yet a difficult choice.
