I love ice and winter although soon enough I will complain and wait for the spring time etc. etc. because it's so freakin cold. The beauty about the Seasons, you can always wait for the next all year round - LOL.
These images were taken earlier this year near where I live. It's a small pond, a Nature Reserve. The temperatures were quite pleasant I clearly remember. In mid February it can be fairly spring-like until the next blizzard arrives.
This walk along the pond seems to have been inspiring. All the photos of your little series, all the shown details, illustrate frost, cold and somehow even silence in a wonderful way. Winter - real winter - is a beautiful season ... This series goes to my TOM choices.
Greetings from grey, wet and cool Westphalia! No winter in sight at all ...
Ice gives a little mini history: After pond freeze, it's been windy scattering leaves and branches, then a bit of snow now the sun makes the smaller leaf cast such a sharp shadow that it looks like a cut. Next the side light casts long shadows and turns shaded areas blue.
I think the third may be my favorite. I like the green tones, the three sword-like blades and that frozen bit of fluffy seed on the stick in the upper corner. It looks like a little star. ......and here's another mystery. What sheltered the ice to produce just a snowy square? Finally I appreciate seeing your whole, not-so-small pond. Clearly a day of winter fun. A choice for me. GLF, Pat
I like this simple things in life make into beautiful photos. Just little tiny detail of things on the ground. I've been doing it more on my trips as we walk, especially on the beach, all the little rocks and sea shells, and sea plants....
