During our trek from Lukra to the Everest base camp, I felt really bad for the porter who has to carry our big bags of luggage up to each destination we went, but looking at these other folks who has to carry wooden plank for building houses and lodges for tourists was even worse. They don't even have proper shoes to wear, and such back breaking job.
Oh my goodness, I wonder how this poor man's back looks in some years. Nobody will pay him an MRI and subscribe physio therapy.
If we as tourists had to carry our stuff alone or sleep in simple tents, the mountains up there would probably be less overran. The altitude can only be "done" with the help of these guys. Okay it gives them a job - some might aruge.
Great docu type image. I like the LV a lot too showing more of the landscape. Both works fine.
This image really brings out the pain of the load and I also appreciate the close-up details of how the load is managed. The panorama with the deep valley and rough trail seems to better define the magnitude of the task. HLJx4, Patricia
